When the muse is MIA.

Some writing gurus say that when writers feel stuck they could ease themselves into the writing zone by writing, something, anything, even crappy stuff.

It was a gloomy, cold and rainy day. Sick, bundled up in bed, her cat at her feet, coffee on the bedside table, computer on her lap, fingers on the keyboard, she waited for inspiration to strike with the same ferocity as the lightning in the dark sky. But since Rita, her muse was missing in action, she had no choice but to find her own inspiration and conjure her own combination of words to put something on the computer screen, something to advance the story she began writing in September 2000.
