Blogathon 2012 – May 20. Let’s notice ease and smile. Joy will follow

I’ve been holding on to the following, written by Karen Wallace from The Nudge. Since I read it on May 16th, I’ve wanted to share it with you. 

When things are easy, life is so much better, isn’t it? I’ve been thinking a lot about ease lately, and what it means especially when things aren’t going well. When the dark times or struggle appear never ending, it can be all too tempting to laugh at anyone’s suggestion that life could be easy. But expecting it to be easy can often have startling outcomes. Expecting flow, expecting miracles, and noticing when they turn up can be a beautiful self-fulfilling prophecy.

 Experiment! Set an intention. Believe in ease. Notice each time something goes better than you hoped. Notice each time you have a string of green lights, get a parking spot near the entrance, or get good news in the mail. Notice ease, and watch as it expands into the corners of your life.

I see what she’s saying. Do you? 
So, we’re going to set an intention, right? We’re going to notice the moments of ease in our day, right? And, because we can’t always wait for joy to inspire our smiles, we are going to go ahead and smile because it just might be the source of our joy, right?
